This chair came in with the rush seat broken in many places and the finish worn through in various locations. First the old rush seat and the finish were removed. Then a 50/50 mixture of van dyke brown and burnt umber dye was sprayed on, followed by a coat of sanding sealer. A new seat was woven using natural seagrass. After the seat was finished multiple coats of lacquer were sprayed on until the desired film thickness was achieved.
